Heathrow Airport – Arriving

On arriving at Heathrow make sure you check the terminal your flight departs from as you have a choice of 5 terminals and some are a fair distance apart by car.  Check your ticket or online to ensure you arrive at the correct terminal. If you are flying in through Heathrow and you have disembarked signs will guide you through passport control, customs and baggage reclaim (follow Flight Connections if you’re catching a connecting flight from Heathrow and your baggage is checked in all the way).

Typically you should allow around 45 minutes from when you step off the flight to get through to arrivals, although it is naturally quicker if you have no luggage to collect.

Each of Heathrow’s terminals features at least one meeting point at which you can arrange to meet people. The information screens will indicate the status of your flight to anyone waiting there.

The Arrivals Halls are host to a large number of shops and food outlets, should you require them before continuing on your journey from Heathrow. Showers, toilet and baby changing facilities are on hand for passengers looking to freshen up on arriving. You can also collect or pre-order currency from any of the many featured operators.

A number of car hire companies service Heathrow; you can access these from arrivals also. If you’re planning on driving into the centre of London, bear in mind that the traffic may be heavy at certain times of the day/ week.

Heathrow is extremely well connected to the city of London, by train, underground, bus and car routes, all of which are easily accessible when you arrive. If you’re staying in the area, there are many hotels available to suit a wide variety of needs and budgets.  Looking to find the best deals on airport parking to get a range of quotations to suit your budget.
