Luton Airport predicts Parking shortages

Travelers flying from Luton Airport should consider booking early so as to grab a parking space as it is predicted by the airport hub that spaces could become in short supply as the summer holidays approach.

They predict that more families will be taking short haul flights with the children over the summer holidays to optimize their holiday spending in light of the financial squeeze and economic pressures.

That will mean a possible shortage of parking spaces and even higher prices as demand outstrips availability so it may be prudent to book early and avoid disappointment and save money.

European destinations such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris for Euro Disney special package promotions and Prague are becoming increasingly popular. Destinations outside the euro area such as Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey which is not part of the Euro has meant the exchange rate is beneficial for the pound. As well as Sharm el Sheik in Egypt was gaining popularity with UK holiday makers.

A spokesperson for the hub said that there will be almost 100 routes available from Luton Airport during the summer months which will increase demand for airport parking spaces. Last month it was announced by Blue Air that they would be starting flights to Romania from Luton with daily flights to Bucharest.
